"Identical" is a 2013 novel by American author and lawyer Scott Turow. It follows the story of Cass Gianis and his identical twin brother Paul, who is running for mayor of Kindle County, their hometown. Cass has a dark past and has spent time in prison, but when a woman he had an affair with is found murdered, he becomes the prime suspect.
The novel explores themes of identity, family, and loyalty, as well as political corruption and scandal. It is set in Kindle County, the same fictional location as Turow's earlier novels such as "Presumed Innocent" and "The Burden of Proof."
"Identical" received mixed reviews upon its release, with some critics praising Turow's storytelling abilities and others criticizing the convoluted plot and reliance on coincidence. However, it was a commercial success, appearing on several bestseller lists and selling over one million copies worldwide.
